The artifact that I chose for this eportfolio assignment would be my Literary Archive. The Literary Archive was a collection of books that I put together on a canva slideshow. On each slide there is a description of the book, how I would use it in my classroom, and how the book connects to history. When looking at the Maine Common Core Teaching Standards, (CCTS), I can see that Standard #4 Content Knowledge connects to this artifact the most. Standard #4 shares how “the teacher understands the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the discipline(s) he or she teaches and creates learning experiences that make these aspects of the discipline accessible and meaningful for learners.”
I believe this artifact that I’ve completed will be able to help me in my future teaching years as I can connect the research on books I’ve done, and then use them in my classroom. I can use the books during different lessons and help connect them to the work that my students are completing. Overall this artifact will contribute to expanding my pedagogical knowledge and becoming a metacognitive teacher in the future.
