The artifact I chose to write about is my Teaching for Technology Toolkit – I thoroughly enjoyed creating this toolkit as it is a great source that I can use in the future when integrating technology into the classroom. The Technology Toolkit is a slideshow of different technology tools that I can use in the classroom, from formative assessment-type platforms, to educational game-like platforms, to even online reading tools. These tools can be used at different grade levels and can be extremely effective when used correctly. The artifact aligns with the Maine Common Core Teaching Standards, Standard #11 – Technology, as the artifact shares how I can use different technology tools in the classroom to improve and engage student learning. It also provides a positive technological environment for students when used appropriately and effectively. This toolkit can help in the classroom, as it’ll help grasp students’ attention when it’s time to switch things up.
This toolkit has helped me explore the different options of technology tools, that I can use in the future. This assignment has helped expand my pedagogical knowledge by having me research and become familiar with these tools, with this being said I can use these tools in the future to give access to my students to help them learn in new and exciting ways. With this assignment, I’m able to improve my future practice as an effective educator by being able to share and integrate these exciting tools into my everyday teaching.
