For this eportfolio, we were assigned to reflect on our most recent project, The Inclusive Classroom Culture Plan. During this plan, I took almost all the work I did throughout the semester, (learning logs, notes, assignments, etc), and combined them into a slideshow. I also added some extra content just to make the assignment stronger and more organized. We were also assigned to align it to Standard #3 Learning Environments of the Maine Common Core Teaching Standards. The standard states “The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that allow each learner to reach his or her full potential.” With that being said, in the inclusive plan, I added a lot of content that can be inclusive and diverse.
When reflecting on the artifact I can see that this assignment will help me greatly in the future. Whenever I may have troubles with students or even behavior issues, I can go back to this plan, and look to see what I can do to change/improve my classroom – PDCA – Plan, Do, Check, Act. I believe this assignment has contributed to expanding my pedagogical knowledge and helped guide me into becoming a metacognitive teacher one day. I believe that this plan will overall be something I can keep on hand and work with and even adjust as I get more experience down the road.
